Course Description

First Aid / CPR Instructor Training

This three-day training session qualifies instructor candidates as certified instructors to teach the American Safety & Health Institute (ASHI) First aid, CPR, and other related training courses.

Upon completion, instructors are certified to teach:

  • First Aid
  • CPR for the Community/Workplace
  • Infant/Child CPR
  • Bloodborne Pathogens (BBP)
  • Automated External Defibrillators (AED)

The course includes teaching techniques, presentation skills, and helpful suggestions for making classes dynamic.  We address real life circumstances in addition to manikin practice to better prepare for CPR emergencies.  You will be impressed with the flexible format that allows you to focus on safety and first aid concerns related specifically to your organization’s exposures and risks.

To maintain your instructor certification you must teach a minimum of one First aid/CPR class per year for the two (2) years of your certification.  Classes are confirmed by submitting rosters to Evergreen Safety Council.

Becoming a certified instructor for your company allows flexibility in planning your first aid training and makes it easier to meet the OSHA/WISHA mandate for certified First aid and CPR trained employees for each shift and crew location.

Training is available and encourage for everyone, but in order to receive an instructor certification an individual must meet the following criteria:

  • Provide documentation of first aid and CPR training within the last 4 years or equivalent;
  • Ability to present information in front of a group
  • Ability to perform skills demonstrations on the floor, including but not limited to chest compressions and recovery position on a mannequin.
  • Sign a waiver in class verifying that you have never had a license or certification suspended, revoked or denied by any organization, or been convicted of a felony in any state.

Course Fees: Members $650, Non-Members $695. Fee includes: instruction, instructor kit, continental breakfasts and lunches. The Instructor Kit includes: FA/CPR Instructor Manual, FA/CPR PowerPoint, FA/CPR DVD, 1 set of student manuals.

For companies that currently have an ASHI Certified Instructor with a teaching kit, course fees are: Members $350, Non-Members $395.
