SPT 106A/B Making Safety Committees Effective/Planning & Conducting Safety Meetings
Part A:
- "Making Safety Committees Effective" details the requirements, guidelines, and procedures for establishing and running a safety committee as mandated by state regulations, the benefits of and reasons for having a safety committee.
- Participants will learn to identify the roles and responsibilities of management, employees and the safety committee members and the responsibilities of the safety office to the safety committee.
- Participants will discuss the value of thorough documentation.
Part B:
- "Planning and Conducting Safety Meetings" defines the various types of meetings and how to conduct each type.
- Participants will learn how to encourage and increase meeting attendance.
- In small groups, participants will plan a safety meeting, demonstrate methods to conduct an instructional safety meeting and schedule future safety meeting for a mock company.
