Mobile Crane Training

This course will prepare operators of fixed cab, small telescopic, and swing cab, large telescopic mobile cranes, to take the nationally recognized NCCCO certification written test.  The class is a fast paced three and ½ days, consisting of three days of classroom instruction, followed by a review on the morning of day #4.  On the afternoon of day #4, an outside proctor will administer the NCCCO core exam, and one or more NCCCO written specialty exams.   In addition to the classroom instruction, ESC will provide contacts for locations where the candidates can take the NCCCO practical evaluation on either fixed cab, or swing cab, telescopic cranes.

The course is taught by ESC’s staff of instructors, each of which brings decades of experience in safe equipment use and on-the-job safety to the classroom.  The classroom training uses colorful, multi-media presentations to illustrate the principals of safe operation, and reviews recent crane accidents to identify contributing issues to those events, and focuses on how to prevent a similar event from being repeated.

Successful preparation for, and completion of the NCCCO written and practical testing, along with having accumulated the minimum hours of operator experience as specified, is what is needed to satisfy the State of Washington crane operators’ certification requirements, for cranes used in construction activities, as provided in WAC 296-155 -533, which went into effect on January 1, 2010.
