FAQ Forklift Instructor Training 

What are the prerequisites for the 2-day instructor course?

Participants must be knowledgeable and experienced with the equipment they will be training operators on and feel comfortable speaking in front of a group.

What are the prerequisites for the 1-day Experienced Instructor Course?

To qualify for the 1-day instructor program, BLLC and ESC require participants to be knowledgeable and experienced with their organization’s equipment and have experience speaking in front of a group.  Instructors will be required to submit a candidate form verifying experience.

In order to meet the experience requirements for this class you must have prior experience as a trainer and have trained students on a regular basis. If our instructor feels you do not have the experience necessary to take the one-day trainer course you will be required to attend day two of the two-day course before you can be certified (which emphasizes practice teaching sessions). There will be an additional registration fee if you are required to attend day two.

What is the length and time of the 2-day class?

The course runs two days. Both days from 7 am - 1 pm. First day from 7 am - 3 pm, second day from 7 am - 1 pm. There are 2 hours of pre-course review and 2 hours of homework on the first evening. Maximum class size is 9.

What is the length and time for the 1 day instructor class?

This one day course is approximately 10 hours in length and is for experienced instructors.  Class will run 7 am – 5 pm.

What is the cost for the Forklift Instructor Class?

$1095 for the Complete Instructor Training Package, which includes:

$495 for each additional instructor within six months (instructor manual only) . Aerial Lift Instructor training can be added to the end of class for $400 – 1st instructor or $300 – each additional instructor.

Course takes place at Renton - Northwest Handling Systems, Inc. – Renton, WA

How long is the certification good for?

Forklift Instructor Certification through BLLC is good for two years.

What about Instructor Recertification?

The half-day forklift instructor recertification course is highly recommended every 2 years. Cost of recertification is $195. Recertification is held at the Evergreen Safety Center in Seattle, WA. Class is held from 8 am – 12 pm; Maximum class size is 40.
