FAQ: P/EVO Instructor Certification

Instructors are required to attend a one-day Instructor’s Refresher Course triennially to maintain current certification. P/EVO Instructor Certification is good for 3 years.

What are the prerequisites to the class?

Applicants must have:

  • A valid Drivers License
  • A Current state certified P/EVO card;
  • And Letter(s) verifying
  • Trainer/Instruction Experience
  • Knowledge of Commercial Transportation, preferably with P/EVO driving experience.

How does the candidate verify the prerequisites/register?

Request a P/EVO Instructor Candidacy form and Registration form. Fill out and submit Candidacy form, Registration form, and payment to Evergreen Safety Council  by mail or fax

How long is the instructor course?

2 Days

What are the hours for the course?

The class sign-in begins at 7:30 each day.  Class will start at 8:00am and run until approximately 5:00pm.

Are there other expenses to the course?

When you teach classes, you will need to purchase P/EVO student kits and certification cards.

Can I teach my own classes or can I only teach for my company?

That is up to you and your company. Make sure you follow their policies.  If they say it is okay to teach on your own, then you are free to do so as long as you continue to follow the Evergreen Safety Council guidelines.
