Flagger Instructor CertificationBecoming a Certified Instructor (Washington State and MUTCD Compliant Training)Flagger Instructor candidates must participate in a Washington State Department of Transportation and Traffic Control Oversight Committee (TCOC) approved two-day training program in order to become an instructor in Washington State. Currently, Evergreen Safety Council has the only approved training curriculum in the State. When trained, instructors will receive a specially designed kit of training materials, which is the cornerstone of this exceptional program. Instructors are guided through the materials and shown how to best train flaggers to performance standards set by the TCOC. Flagger Instructors are certified for three years by Evergreen Safety Council. To recertify, you must take an Instructor’s Refresher Course (4 to 8 hours) triennially to maintain current certification. What Instructors Recieve
