Sidecar/Trike Education Program Instructor Preparation Workshop

An Instructor Preparation (IP) course to certify new S/TEP Instructors is scheduled for the Tidewater, Virginia area May 15 th through May 22 nd , 2010 (8 a.m. to approximately 6 p.m.). On May 15th-16 th you will offered the S/TEP Basic class as an introduction to and familiarization with the Program. The IP will begin on Monday May 17 th and continue through Friday 20th and will prepare successful Instructor Candidates to teach the Novice and Advanced S/TEP courses. Classroom presentation, range management, observation, evaluation and coaching skills will be emphasized. Friday evening through Sunday afternoon, Instructor Candidates will teach an actual Novice S/TEP class under the supervision of a Chief Instructor. Successful candidates are certified for three years.

Training rigs will be provided.

Course cost is $500.00 per Instructor Candidate. You will be required to purchase the Instructor kit (Instructor Guide, transparency masters, Range cards, student handbook, teaching techniques handbook) from the Evergreen Safety Council. A pre-course assignment is required to be completed prior to the IP start.

Please obtain a copy of your State driver’s record and forward to me with your application. Upon receipt of your completed application, you will be contacted by telephone for a personal interview. A list of the selected applicants will be forwarded to Evergreen Safety Council for release of training materials. If you are not selected, your application will be kept on file and your check returned.
