Starting 2017, the Pilot/Escort Vehicle Operator (P/EVO) Instructor Course, will become a three-day event that will guide the instructor through the materials and show them how to train pilot/escort vehicle operators to the standards set by the Washington State Pilot/Escort Oversight Committee.
Upon successful completion of this three-day session, which includes passing an open-book exam with a score of 80% or better, the instructor is qualified to train pilot/escort vehicle operators (P/EVOs) and issue the Washington State certification card.
The instructor certification is valid for three years. At the end of three years, they are required to take a one-day (6–8 hours) refresher course.
Please submit the completed Candidate Application form and supporting documentation to the Evergreen Safety Council a minimum of 10 calendar days prior to registration.
All paperwork will be reviewed and phone interviews may be conducted before approval to enroll is granted.
Please Note: Any of the information provided may be submitted to Washington State Department of Transportation upon request.
Students who pass the open-book test and meet all prerequisites will be reissued a current P/EVO card following participation in the instructor training session.
Currently, Evergreen Safety Council is the only approved provider to issue the Washington State certification card for pilot/escort vehicle operator. If you have further questions, contact Evergreen Safety Council at email@example.com or 800.521.0778.
