There is a nationwide need for high-quality online crossing guard training. Evergreen Safety Council is interested in developing a 1-hour, self-directed program that could be purchased by individuals and licensed to districts, schools, or organizations.
Our crossing guard program would address the following topics:
- MUTCD regulations for adult crossing guards
- Recommended clothing and equipment
- Inspecting the crosswalk and surrounding area
- Basic crossing procedures
- Crossing at controlled vs. uncontrolled intersections
- Using 2 crossing guards
- What to do in an emergency
- Procedures and safety recommendations for kids who assist with crossing
- Quiz (unlimited attempts, students must pass with a 90% or better in order to earn certificate of completion)
